Second Full Trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy!

Rocket speaks!  Groot speaks! Everyone has something to say in the new Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, which landed on the internets today.  Its hard not to start getting very excited for this one, eh?  Between the comical first trailer and this action-heavy new one, Marvel is playing their cards very well in order to get people on board with a relatively unknown, ragtag group of heroes.

Will you be lining up when Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters on August 1?

First Full Trailer for INTERSTELLAR!!!

Happy Friday everyone! To celebrate, lets ponder the fate of the human race! YAY!!!

The first full trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new movie Interstellar is out, check it out below! We had seen a teaser trailer a bit ago, and as usual with his movies details are kept very tight and very secret (even IMDB says the plot is unknown). We heard some things that it was going to involve surpassing mankinds limitations on space travel, and some others were saying maybe it was going to revolve around corn somehow. But we now know from the trailer that this movie will deal with the fact that humans are running out of food. We don’t need scientists, or engineers, we need food. And we have to think beyond surviving as a family, or as a country, we have to think of surviving as an entire species. And we must search for survival options for our species beyond our solar system by making use of (ahem) Interstellar travel. Check out the trailer –

This movie sounds amazing in every way. I love the concept and the “big picture” thinking that Christopher Nolan always brings to the table,. Plus the ideas behind this movie are very real, and very relevant. I would be excited for this to be any Christopher Nolan movie, but the fact that its also a space travel movie just excites the nerd in me even more. I am hoping that the movie doesn’t go too far off on that tangent however, we have seen movies built around great ideas and concepts that just took a massive turn for the worse (Prometheus I’m looking at you buddy – you can listen to our review of that piece of crap here). But if anyone can hold this type of movie together its Christopher Nolan. He has a fantastic ability to build movies around these huge concepts and keep it there, front and center, through the whole movie.

Let us know what you think about the trailer below in the comments! And check the podcast this week to hear Paul and I discuss this trailer on this weeks show where we will be reviewing Godzilla!

Interstellar, with all its impressive cast – Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, William Devane, Topher Grace, Wes Bentley, Casey Affleck, and of course, Michael Caine, opens November 7th, 2014.

Órale Vato! Do Not Miss This Clip From 22 JUMP STREET!!!

Holy hell this clip from the upcoming 22 Jump Street had me rolling! Check it out as Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum go undercover as a couple hardcore “vatos” and try to score a look at some product. This movie is shaping up to be just as good if not better than 21 Jump Street, and I cant wait. You can listen to our review of 21 Jump Street here, we actually gave our review of this movie while we were in Austin TX at SXSW in 2012, so if its a little loud in the background, deal with it! Check out the clip below –

22 Jump Street directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street, and the hilarious The Lego Movie – you can listen to our view of the The Lego Movie here) hits theaters June 13th, 2014.

First Trailer is (Back) Out for FOXCATCHER Starring Channing Tatum!

Now now ladies, calm down it’s not what you think. “Foxcatcher” is nothing like “Chippendales” which is nothing like “Magic Mike.” So you can just forget right now about seeing a shirtless, sweaty Channing Tatum prancing around with other dudes… Well wait, maybe not, since Foxcatcher is about wrestling (real wrestling, not that – pull a folding chair out from under the ring and smash it over the other guys face type wrestling). The trailer was posted a while ago, but the movie was then pushed back, so the trailer got pulled (or something like that happened). But now the movie is playing at Cannes so the marketing engine is back up and running. The trailer and official synopsis is below –

FOXCATCHER, a psychological drama directed by Academy Award® nominee Bennett Miller (MONEYBALL) and starring Golden Globe® winner Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, Academy Award® nominee Mark Ruffalo, Academy Award® winner Vanessa Redgrave and Sienna Miller, will have its World Premiere on Friday, November 8 as the Opening Weekend Gala. The film was written by E. Max Frye and Academy Award® nominee Dan Futterman. FOXCATCHER tells the story of Olympic Gold Medal-winning wrestler Mark Schultz (Tatum), who sees a way out from the shadow of his more celebrated wrestling brother Dave (Ruffalo) and a life of poverty when he is summoned by eccentric multi-millionaire John du Pont (Carell) to move onto his estate and train for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Desperate to gain the respect of his disapproving mother, du Pont begins “coaching” a world-class athletic team and, in the process, lures Mark into dangerous habits, breaks his confidence and drives him into a self-destructive spiral. Based on actual events, FOXCATCHER is a gripping and profoundly American story of fragile men who pinned their hopes for love and redemption on a desperate obsession for greatness that was to end in tragedy

I am beyond excited for this movie. Actually I wouldn’t even say excited is the right word, this movie just looks so damn interesting. I started wrestling when I was about five years old up until I was about 20 or so, so this subject matter is extremely relevant. Plus the fact that this unbelievable story is based on actual events is just icing on the cake, icing on the crazy unbelievable cake. With an almost unrecognizable Steve Carell, what appears to be a shy, introverted Channing Tatum, and the always great Marc Ruffalo, this movie is also sure to have performances that will really bring some weight to this already heavy story. Couple that with the fact that its directed by Bennett Miller who directed Capote, and Moneyball which Paul and I both loved (you can listen to our review of that here), this movie has all the makings of an amazing film. I can’t say enough how excited I am for this movie. Let me know what you think about this trailer in the comments!

Cowabunga Dude! First Trailer is out For Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Question, did you grow up in the 80’s? Well then you’re in for a treat, and I don’t mean pizza! I mean a big old slice of nostalgia, served up fresh courtesy of Jonathan Liebesman. The first trailer is out for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! That’s right, another one of your beloved childhood memories brought to the big screen (again) (well, again, again)! If TMNT has a familiar look to it, its because it was produced by none other than Michael “I’m gonna blow shit up so much” Bay, who as you may know, is in love with Transformers, and you can see the same look and feel translate to this trailer as well.

Check out the first trailer below… Some are calling it more of a teaser trailer, but I think its your basic set-up trailer… you be the judge!

Let us know what you think in the comments! Paul and I will give you our thoughts on the new trailer on the upcoming show this weekend where we are going to review Sabotage and Noah, but wanted to get this up for you all to see!

New Trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past!!!

Whats up Cinema Recon-ites!? I bring you fine spices, jewels, and a new trailer for the upcoming Brian Singer directed X-Men: Days of Future Past! Now if you don’t know, this new flick deals with a bit of time traveling… that’s right… the FUTURE!!! (and also the past, but that doesn’t sound as exciting)

In the near future our mutants are facing near extinction at the hands of Bolivar Trask, played by the absolutely always amazing Peter Dinklage. Trask you see, is the inventor of some of the most menacing machinery our mutants will ever have to face… The Sentinels! (queue loud, shocking music) So the X-Men send Wolverine back in time to convince the younger Professor X that he must band together with Magneto to defeat Trask and the Sentinels, and to save all mutant kind! Its the ol’ good guys and bad guys must come together to face a super-bad-guy before he kills them all! Yeah, pretty much exactly like that!

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments!

First Trailer is Out For HERCULES Starring Dwayne Johnson!!!

Check it out! The first trailer is out for the Brett Ratner directed Hercules, starring none other than The Rock himself, Dwayne Johnson! I have been saying it for a long time, that this generation really lacks an action star with that true star power, like Arnold, Stallone, and Willis use to have… that’s why those guys are still making movies, cause they are still bad ass, and there is nobody else to fill that void. Well, wait no more, I think he has been slowly creeping up on us all and I think Dwayne Johnson is a great actor to fill those (giant) shoes and step in as the action star of today…

Now don’t get me wrong there are a lot of ways this movie can go south… I mean after all, Ratner did direct Tower Heist and X-Men: The Last Stand. You can check out our review of Tower Heist here, and that gives you a pretty good idea of what Paul and I think about Brett Ratner. And don’t even get us started on X-Men: The Last Stand… ouch. But hopefully he has learned some lessons between then and now, and at least he has someone like The Rock starring in Hercules, who is entertaining enough on the screen that he can probably carry a bad movie if he needs to, hell he can probably carry a small elephant if he needs to.

But with that said, check out the first trailer for Hercules below…

The trailer introduces us to the story and sets up this version of Hercules, so there isn’t a lot of action shown off here. But Johnson looks awesome as Hercules, and the effects looks pretty damn amazing if I do say so myself (I do, I do say so). Be on the lookout for more trailers down the road which are bound to showcase a lot more action! Let us know what you think about the trailer in the comments section!

New Trailer out for Neighbors Starring Seth Rogen & Zac Efron!

What happens when a crazy fraternity moves in next door to a quiet little family??? Babies eat fake blue meth that’s what! Well, not exactly but that is a pretty damn funny scene from this new trailer for the movie Neighbors starring Seth Rogen & Zac Efron. I must say, this movie looks pretty damn funny. It reminds me very much of Old School in the sense that it might actually have a decent story and also some super hilarious antics along the way. I will admit that I can get a bit tired of Seth Rogan at times but this trailer looks like he will be a little more played down than some of his other roles, but no less funny. I don’t know what is more awesome, the fact that they throw a Robert De Niro look alike party, or the fact that Dave Franco’s impersonation of De Niro is spot on. Neighbors is set to open May 9th, 2014.

First Trailer for 22 JUMP STREET!

Its a good week for new movie trailers! But I don’t know if they get any better than this. 21 Jump Street was a pleasant return to some good ol’ laugh out loud comedy done right. Nobody ever expected the combination of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum to work, it just seemed too damn odd. But, alas, the people we about as wrong as Paul is nerdy, the pairing of the two was comedic genius. But the bigger question was, if (when) they make the sequel, can the capture lightning in a bottle twice. Is that the expression? Sounds wrong… either way, you know what I mean.

Check out the trailer and let us know in the comments, but by the looks of this, I would say the lightning has definitely been re-bottled, again. This trailer is hilarious, the ending is especially awesome, and this trailer (and hopefully the movie), shows how you can stick true to a format but still keep it fresh for the sequels (sorry Hangover).

First Trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes!!!

Check it out, the apes are back now with 30% more face paint! Wanted to get this trailer up, its short but pretty sweet I think! I definitely like the fact that it takes place some time after the first, and not only has there been a war between the humans and the virus, but also among the humans themselves. Looks like the humans are seeking some sort of truce, but aint no Caesar got time for that!
