Cinema Recon SXSW update!

Hey everyone! As you probably heard on the most recent show, we made the HUGE announcement that Cinema Recon will be attending the South by Southwest music and film festival in Austin, TX!!! We are beyond excited to be teaming up with Deadbird Records in Austin to sponsor 3 different showcases that are sure to be beyond bad ass. I mean come on, one of them is called “The Big Knife Party”… Does it get any more awesome than that!

We’re gonna pack up all our shit, hop on a plane and take this damn show on the road! Unfortunately, I do have to bring Paul, but I’m sure it will still be fun… (fingers crossed). This is our opportunity to bring you, our massive Cinema Recon audience (Hi Paul’s Mom), interviews with some really awesome bands on movies and music, and the SXSW scene in general. Below are the posters for the different showcases, and as you can see the line up is pretty intense. And if you check out the bottom of the posters, you will even see our brand-spankin’ new bright and shiny logo!

We can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are to be a part of these showcases. Special thanks again to Deadbird Records, and stay tuned for more updates on SXSW,  the bands that will be there, and what we have in store!!!

Wanderlust Red Band Trailer Released

Do you remember The State on MTV?  I do.  And fondly.  I was a huge fan of the short-lived sketch comedy series, and was sad to see it disappear in 1995.  Flash forward a few years to 2003 where several of the cast members reassembled to create the huge hit Reno 911!  Later in 2007, nearly all of The State was back together again for the film Reno 911!: Miami.  And there was much rejoicing.

Why am I talking about The State? Because the upcoming comedy Wanderlust will be reuniting many of the cast members once again!  (David Wain directed and the film features Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, and Kerri Kenney-Silver)  A new red band trailer (that means it has naughty words, NSFW) was just released today through Break.com.  Check it out:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

The first trailer I saw forWanderlust didn’t really resonate with me, BUT after learning of The State’s involvement and seeing this new trailer, I’m actually thinking it could be a good time!  My, how easily swayed I am.

International Teaser Trailer for Prometheus!

While we don’t really see anything new here in comparison to the previously released teaser, I can’t help but post up the latest bit of Prometheus news.  The International teaser was just released and, yup, it still gives me chills:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I have been more excited for a film.  The mystery swirling around this movie, the relation to the Alien universe, the fact that director Ridley Scott wants to “scare the living shit out of you“…it is just the right amount of hype to make someone like me go apeshit with anticipation.

Cinema Recon will be all over this when it releases on June 8, 2012, you can be damn sure of that!

Ninety-Freakin-Seven John Carter Images!(???)

…Because 98 would be too many.

Seriously??  I’ve never heard of a studio releasing a Costco-size pack of images like this, but here they are!  ComingSoon.net has ’em, so block out your afternoon calendar and have a gander!

Why, for the love of Walt Disney, do we need 97 images from an upcoming film???  If ever there was good reason for me to use 3 Question Marks, it’s here.  Why not pre-release the film in flip book form while you’re at it!?  And I’m not trying to shit on the movie.  In fact, I know very little about the soon-to-be blockbuster franchise (I can only imagine).  But….97?  I mean…really???
